Lisa O’Donoghue of Votechnik, coordinator of the ReVolv project, presented the project at the 16th International Electronics Recycling Congress IERC on 17-20 January 2017. This annual congress held in Salzburg, Austria, gathers the key members of the international e-waste sector. This year’s event was attended by 480 participants such as EEE producers, WEEE recyclers, equipment manufacturers, recycling associations, refurbishers, standards bodies, NGOs, regulators.
As one of the invited speakers Lisa O’Donoghue participated at the Toolbox section of the IERC congress. In her presentation titled “Newly Developed Robotics Recycling of LCD Displays Emerging from the EC Funded ReVolv Pilot Action” she highlighted the objectives, the challenges and the progress of the ReVolv project.
The project consortium was one of the 60 exhibitors that had a stand at the congress where participants could ask questions to the ReVolv team. There was a great interest shown in the project, numerous people registered to receive the newsletter and several people filled in the ReVolv market survey helping the consortium to develop an LCD recycling machine that will fit the recyclers’ demands.
